The North Wales walled town of Conwy is home to the annual Honey Fair, dating back to the late 13th century in the time of King Edward I.

The King gave local beekeepers the right to sell honey within the walls of the town every year on September 13th without charge as it was laid down in the Royal Charter.

But the arrangements have not always gone according to the King’s wishes.
