The olde worlde village of Godshill
Sailing down Southampton Water
Stormy afternoon at Alum Bay

The Isle of Wight is a remarkable island. Remarkable because of the variety of landscape and places which it is possible to find in such a small island.

Godshill is just one of many interesting villages, set just about four miles west of Shanklin. This film shows a number of villages in addition to Godshill - Brighstone and Shorwell are others.
This was the first film I made on the island and it visits places and tourist haunts all over the island, starting with the sail across the Solent from Southampton on Cowes week and ending with a reflection of the diversity of places seen on a week’s cycling holiday based in Shanklin.

I have been there several times since and made films of different aspects of the island, but none as varied as this, taken in a week with the August temperatures bordering on the 80s but with a welcoming outdoor swimming pool back at the hotel.
